Thekkady is a tourist destination in the state of Kerala known for it’s wildlife sanctuary – Periyar. Also deemed as the country’s sole tiger reserve, the scenic beauty of this town is as thrilling as the winding roads to reach this countryside that is rich in plantations and thick jungles. The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is centered around the large artificial lake formed by a dam across the river Periyar and is most suited for a visit between September and March. | Itinearary | Day 1 : Arrive at the resort in Thekkady and proceed to Periyal Wildlife sanctuary. Explore Periyar on your own or choose to take a Jeep Safari with us and go on a three hour tour to the Kerala -Tamil Nadu border. Touch an elephant and maybe board one for a 15 minute elephant safari. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: After breakfast, make a visit to the famed Spice Plantation where the aroma and sight of a variety of exotic plants will linger with you for a long time. You can engage in a session of bird watching if interested or go sight seeing with the forest guard at an extra cost. Booking to be made in advance. Overnight stay in Thekkady. Day 3 : After breakfast checkout and proceed for the return journey. |
